- XRP price holds near $1.30 as Ripple expands XRP and RLUSD into AI-agent payments through Stripe and Tempo’s MPP standard
- Ripple’s XRPL AI Starter Kit now supports machine payments, recurring XRP sessions and multi-chain wallet management
- Franklin Templeton’s XRP ETF pulled in about $3.5 million on September 16, taking cumulative inflows to roughly $483 million
XRP price is currently sitting near $1.30 after a bruising week, but the news around the token has shifted away from the chart. Ripple has expanded its developer tools so AI agents can use XRP and RLUSD through a payments standard backed by Stripe and Tempo. At the same time, fresh money is still moving into a US XRP ETF. Neither development has sparked a major breakout yet, but both add something XRP has been chasing for years which is more ways to actually use it.

XRP Price Stabilizes Near $1.30

XRP was trading around $1.30 on Thursday, up roughly 2% over 24 hours, according to latest data. Trading volume stood near $3.84 billion and market capitalization around $81.8 billion. The token is still down about 7.2% over seven days, however, after trading as high as $1.49 during the period.
This makes the latest Ripple AI payments update more interesting than the modest rebound itself.
RippleX has released version 1.1 of its XRP Ledger AI Starter Kit, adding support for the Machine Payments Protocol, or MPP, which was co-authored by Stripe and Tempo. The kit also adds the Open Wallet Standard, allowing software to manage wallets across multiple chains through a common interface.
MPP is designed for software agents that need to buy things such as API access, data or computing power without going through a normal checkout page. A service sends back a price, the agent authorizes payment and the requested resource is delivered. Stripe says the protocol already supports microtransactions and recurring payments.

RippleX product head Jazzi Cooper said the goal is to make XRP and RLUSD “first-class options” wherever developers are building.
The Stripe XRP connection still needs some context. Stripe has not added XRP as a regular payment option across its checkout products. Instead, Ripple has made the XRP Ledger a settlement rail for MPP. Developers using the Stripe-Tempo standard can therefore choose XRP when building machine-payment applications.
XRP also has a role that stablecoins do not yet fully cover in the new setup. Individual payments can use XRP or issued assets such as RLUSD, but session payments currently rely on XRP payment channels. Those channels let an agent make repeated small payments off-chain before settling the final amount onchain.
Franklin XRP ETF Pulls in Another $3.5M
The investment side is moving too. Franklin Templeton’s XRPZ recorded $3.5013 million in net inflows on September 16, according to SoSoValue data. The fund was the only US XRP ETF with a positive flow that day and has now accumulated roughly $483 million in net inflows.
Currently, the XRP price is still stuck around $1.30. But Ripple is widening where XRP can be used just as ETF investors continue adding exposure, giving the market more to watch than the daily chart alone.
