Ripple has secured final US approval for a national trust bank, marking a step for the company as it expands its stablecoin and custody business. XRP’s price response to this has been modest so far, with the token trading around $1.30 after the news. Amidst this, large wallets have increased their share of the circulating supply. But how much could Ripple’s bank approval change demand for XRP itself?

What Ripple’s Bank Approval Means for XRP

The Office of the Comptroller of the Currency granted final approval to charter Ripple National Trust Bank on October 26, following conditional approval in December 2025. According to Ripple, the bank’s approved activities include managing reserves backing its RLUSD stablecoin and providing fiduciary digital asset custody. Standard Custody & Trust Company, a Ripple-owned New York trust company, will continue to issue RLUSD.
This is important for XRP holders. The approval gives Ripple another federally supervised business, but it does not require its customers to buy or use XRP. Any effect on token demand will depend on how Ripple’s services develop and how customers choose to use them. Garlinghouse added,
“We’ve spent over a decade building regulated financial infrastructure that institutions can actually use at scale. A national trust charter gives us an even stronger foundation for RLUSD and the institutional products we’re building across payments, custody and capital markets.”
Ripple said RLUSD had reached a $2.5 billion market cap, giving the trust bank a role in a stablecoin business that is already operating.

XRP Whales Hold More as Price Stays Near $1.30

The latest news comes as large XRP wallets account for a growing share of circulating tokens. Santiment data shows that addresses holding at least 10 million XRP controlled approximately 46.87 billion tokens, or around 68.5% of circulating supply, the group’s largest share since November 2022.
This is being watched for signs of accumulation. Large addresses can also belong to exchanges and custodians holding assets for customers, so the data alone does not show who is buying or why.

At press time, XRP was trading at $1.30, with traders watching whether the token can make a more sustained move after the approval.
What Would $3,000 in XRP Be Worth at $1.50?
Santiment identifies $1.50 as a level that could strengthen the case for an XRP recovery, while $1.30 remains the immediate pivot. XRP would need to gain roughly 15.38% from $1.30 to reach that higher level.

According to MarketCapOf’s profit calculator, a $3,000 investment in XRP at $1.30 would be worth $3,461.54 if the price rose to $1.50. That would leave the investor with a $461.54 profit.
Ripple’s bank approval and growing large-wallet holdings have given XRP investors plenty to watch. But whether Ripple’s token can build on those developments and reclaim $1.50 will depend on how much buying follows.
