- Recent predictions reveal an October XRP price high of $1.60, with lower monthly highs forecast for November and December
- XRP Ledger patched a decade-old bug that could create unauthorized XRP, with no evidence of exploitation on public networks
- A hypothetical $1,000 XRP purchase at $0.004556 would be worth about $351,185 at $1.60, before fees and taxes
XRP’s price has a possible route back to $1.60 in a new October forecast, but the latest XRP Ledger news reaches beyond trading charts. Developers have revealed a flaw that could have allowed attackers to create tokens they never paid for. The bug appears to have survived about a decade before researchers caught it. With the fix already released, attention turns to what the disclosure means for holders and how much upside the forecast actually leaves.

XRP Price Prediction Points to an October High

CoinCodex’s forecast puts XRP’s October trading range between $1.38 and $1.60, with an average of $1.52. Its November ceiling falls to $1.55, followed by $1.46 in December.
This makes $1.60 the model’s highest projected price for the remaining months of 2026, rather than its December closing target. The XRP price prediction also leaves room for a retreat after October. These estimates change as the model updates.
Using $1.40 as its price at press time, reaching $1.60 would deliver approximately 14.3% upside. The security disclosure provides no evidence that the patch will produce that move.
What the Decade-Old Bug Put at Risk
The XRP Ledger’s recent disclosure describes an arithmetic error in its payment engine. When specially constructed transactions exceeded a numerical limit, the system could credit sellers more XRP than it charged the buyer.
This difference could become spendable tokens, threatening XRP supply integrity. An existing safety check failed because it used the same faulty arithmetic. A researcher reported the vulnerability on September 22. RippleX reproduced it and raised its severity to critical. The fix shipped in xrpld 3.4.1 on September 25, with more than 80% of default-list validators running the updated software that day.
Developers said they found no evidence of exploitation on public networks. For XRP security, the significant point is that the disclosure followed the patch and it did not announce an ongoing attack.

What a $1.60 XRP Price Means for Returns
Using MarketCapOf’s XRP profit calculator, a hypothetical $1,000 purchase at $0.004556, XRP’s price about 11 years ago, would be worth approximately $309,482 at a selling price of $1.41. This represents a profit of $308,482, or 30,848.2%, with fees set to zero.

If the XRP price reached $1.60, the same holdings would be worth approximately $351,185, lifting the profit to $350,185 before fees and taxes.
Those figures depend on the selected entry price. For someone buying at $1.41, a rise to $1.60 would generate a more modest 13.48% return, turning $1,000 into approximately $1,134.75.
