XRP Price Drops to $1.25 as Wallet Growth Surges Ahead of XRPL Token-Minting Fix

XRP price

XRP is trading near $1.25 even after thousands of new wallets appeared on its network over the weekend. The rise in account creation followed the Binance breach, prompting Santiment to suggest that some holders may be moving toward self-custody. Yet the XRP price has barely reflected that activity. With a security fix also approaching on the XRP Ledger, the next few days could help clarify if the wallet surge shows more than a brief response to market uncertainty.

XRP Price Holds Steady as New Wallets Multiply

Santiment recorded 7,934 new XRP wallets on November 1, the sixth-highest daily total of 2026. The increase for XRP came on a Sunday, a day the firm described as typically quieter for network activity.

But new addresses cannot tell us how many people joined. An existing holder moving funds off an exchange can open a fresh wallet without buying more XRP. Santiment’s suggested link to self-custody remains a possible explanation.

Santiment sees a more encouraging combination in daily wallet creation holding above roughly 4,000 and XRP reclaiming $1.30.

What a Move to $1.30 Would Mean

MarketCapOf’s profit calculator puts that potential move into dollars. A hypothetical $5,000 purchase at $1.25 buys 4,000 XRP. Selling at $1.30 would return $5,200, a $200 profit, or 4%, before fees and taxes.

The calculation assumes that sale price is reached. At $1.20, the same holding would instead be worth $4,800. Santiment says a break below that level, alongside daily wallet growth slipping under 3,000, would weaken its outlook.

XRPL Upgrade Targets Issued-Token Loophole

In addition, the XRP Ledger upgrade known as fixCleanup3_4_0 is targeting November 4. XRPL Dashboard showed backing from 33 of 35 tracked validators, and activation depends on support staying above 80% for two uninterrupted weeks.

Official documentation explains that accounts granted the PaymentBurn permission can sometimes create issued tokens despite being authorized only to destroy them. The correction addresses that permission gap for assets such as stablecoins. XRP’s native supply is unaffected. Developers recommend withholding that delegated permission until the fix is enabled.

The upgrade addresses issuer controls. For holders watching the price, if the new accounts remain active after the initial surge is stills something to think about.
