XRP Eyes $5 First, but ETF Outflows Challenge the $15 Bull Run

ETF Outflows Challenge the XRP $15 Bull Run

The XRP bull run talk is back after the token bounced to $1.31 on October 19, 2026, but the data shows a market stuck between bulls and bears. Analysts have set an XRP price target of $5 first and up to $15 in a super bull market, while XRP ETF outflows of $1.84 million ended 13 straight weeks of inflows. So, is XRP bull or bear right now? XRP is only in a short-term relief bounce, so a real bull run in 2026 hasn’t started yet, and the token still needs to reclaim $1.33 and then $1.39 to change that.

As Invezz reveals in its XRP rebound warning, the bounce came mostly from leveraged traders getting squeezed and not from fresh buyers. Bulls see $5 first and a much bigger XRP bull run later on. Bears point to the ETF data, the shrinking futures positions and a price that still sits far below the 2025 highs above $3.

The weekly chart tells the story pretty well. XRP opened the week near $1.40, slid through $1.35 and $1.30, and then dropped to about $1.26 before buyers pushed it back up on Sunday and Monday. On the weekly chart it is only a partial bounce, and that is why the XRP bull run debate feels so loud right now.

A real XRP bull run in 2026 would need the price to stop printing lower highs first, and so far it hasn’t.

Who Is Buying XRP Near $1.30?

XRP climbed from $1.26 to $1.29 in one hour on Sunday, a 2.14% move that came with roughly $240,000 in short liquidations across Binance, Bybit and OKX. A short squeeze can lift the price for a few hours, but it does not prove that anyone is accumulating XRP ahead of an XRP bull run, and it also doesn’t settle the XRP bull or bear question on its own.

Market analyst Vuori Trading pointed to the $1.30 to $1.32 support area in comments that Blockonomi published on October 18. Vuori Trading said:

“Still holding the 1.3-1.32 support! $1.39 is next logical level.”

That support briefly failed during Sunday’s dip toward $1.26. A break above the descending price channel could open a route toward $1.87, but that remains a conditional technical target and not a firm XRP price target.

Futures Data Shows Sellers Are Running Out Of Steam

Combined open interest on Binance and Bybit dropped by 175 million XRP, or 26.5%, between September 23 and October 16. Over the same stretch, cumulative volume delta, which tracks aggressive buying against aggressive selling, deteriorated by about $1.99 billion. Leveraged bulls closed their bets, and sellers controlled most of the trades.

Fewer sellers is not the same thing as more buyers, though. XRP’s short-term conditions as stretched enough for a rebound attempt, with the short-term RSI near 24, an oversold reading. That points to a relief rally, and not yet to the start of an XRP bull run in 2026.

XRP ETF Outflows End A 13-Week Inflow Streak

US spot XRP ETFs registered about $1.84 million in net outflows in the week ended October 16, according to SoSoValue figures that Invezz cites. These XRP ETF outflows ended 13 consecutive weeks of inflows, the first weekly withdrawals in more than three months.

Against around $1.47 billion in ETF assets, the XRP ETF outflows look small, roughly 0.13% of the total. Still, they broke a run of steady demand. Bitcoin funds, by comparison, kept pulling money in, and Cathie Wood says Bitcoin is turning against gold as spot ETFs posted $241 million in inflows earlier this month. Other products also compete for that money, including a new ETF that drew $35.5 million on its first day.

Why ETF Flows Weigh More Than Social Media Targets

ETF flows show real money moving through regulated products, while an XRP price target on X costs nothing to post. That is why even small XRP ETF outflows carry so much weight in the XRP bull or bear debate. If they continue for a second or third week, the bears get a much stronger argument.

Regulation also still shapes where big buyers can trade, and the scrutiny Binance faces under MiCA in Europe shows how quickly licensing rules can change access for millions of users.

Crypto Rover Sets A $5 XRP Price Target For The Next 8 To 16 Months

As TimesTabloid shows in its report covering XRP’s price target, crypto YouTuber Crypto Rover expects Bitcoin to hit $200,000, Ethereum to top $10,000, Solana to reach $1,000 and XRP to climb to $5 over the next 8 to 16 months. Crypto Rover had this to say:

“The next 8–16 months could change your life.”

XRP, at $1.30, would need to rise about 285% to reach $5, and between 746% and 1,054% to hit the $11 to $15 range.

The $5 call is also higher than Rover’s previous view. On September 24, The Crypto Basic reported that he forecast XRP between $3.20 and $4.80 over the next 12 to 18 months.

What Rover’s Followers Pushed Back On

Not everyone agreed. One commenter said targets like these need liquidity and Bitcoin confirmation before altcoins can follow. Another said he could see SOL at $1,000 but not XRP at $5, and called XRP a scam.

Big round numbers and life-changing promises are also exactly what fake giveaway accounts copy on X, so any XRP price target is an opinion and never a guarantee.

Steph Is Crypto Says The XRP Bull Run Can Reach $15

A second, even bolder call came from crypto analyst Steph Is Crypto. He stated:

“$XRP will fly to $15.00 before you know it.”

His weekly chart shows XRP bottoming near $0.41 in late 2024, topping above $3 in early 2025 and then moving sideways. A curved line projects XRP speeding up through 2027 and reaching $15 by late 2027 or early 2028.

From $1.29, that means an 11.6x move, and most replies were skeptical. One user called the forecast delusional, pointing to XRP’s failure to reclaim $2 after nine months of sideways action. The XRP bull run Steph describes is a 2027 to 2028 story, and not a 2026 one.

XRP Vs Bitcoin In 2026: What The ROI Numbers Show

XRP vs BTC ROI
XRP returned 0.71x and Bitcoin 0.94x from January 1 to October 19, 2026 – Source: MarketCapOf

MarketCapOf’s ROI Calculator shows how far the token has to go. From January 1 to October 19, 2026, XRP returned 0.71x, while Bitcoin returned 0.94x. So $1,000 put into XRP on New Year’s Day would be worth $711.75 today, a loss of about 29%, while the same amount in Bitcoin would be worth $942.63, a loss of about 6%.

That matters because Rover’s own followers said altcoin rallies usually need Bitcoin to lead first. An XRP bull run in 2026 without a Bitcoin breakout first would go against that pattern, and XRP’s 23-point gap behind Bitcoin shows buyers have preferred BTC so far.

XRP supporters expect more cross-border payment use, but other networks also chase those flows, and one rival network already averages more than 4 million daily active accounts. Meme coins keep moving to cheaper networks too, with one of the biggest meme tokens launching on a faster chain earlier this month.

XRP Bull Or Bear? What CoinCodex Indicators Show

CoinCodex data on XRP technical indicators shows a 14-day RSI of 34.56, which the site treats as neutral, just above the oversold line at 30. CoinCodex also expects XRP’s 50-day SMA to reach $1.42 by November 18, 2026.

On the chart, the price now sits below the 50-day average and right on top of the 200-day average.

The 14-day RSI reads below 30 as oversold and above 70 as overbought. XRP sits just above the oversold line.
Price vs the 50-day SMA

XRP trades at $1.31, under its 50-day SMA, which is expected to reach $1.42 by November 18, 2026. Short-term momentum still favors sellers.

Price vs the 200-day SMA

The price sits right on top of the 200-day SMA, which is expected to drop over the next month. Holding this line supports the bulls, and a clean break below it favors the bears.

What the RSI adds

An RSI of 34.56 is neutral but close to oversold, so sellers have less room left before the market looks stretched.

So, is XRP bull or bear at this point? Bulls have oversold momentum, a cleared-out futures market, $1.47 billion still in XRP ETFs and two analysts calling for $5 and $15. Bears have the first XRP ETF outflows in more than three months, a 29% loss this year and no proof of fresh buying behind Monday’s bounce. Right now, the data leans bearish and the forecasts lean bullish, and ETF flows over the next few weeks will likely decide which side of the XRP bull or bear argument is right.

Key Levels That Could Start An XRP Bull Run In 2026

For bulls, Invezz points to reclaiming $1.33 and then challenging $1.39 as the first steps, with $1.87 and $2 above that. On the downside, $1.26 is the weekend low and $1.22 is where Cryptoinsightuk would look to buy. A daily close under $1.26 would make the XRP bull or bear question a lot easier to answer, and not in the bulls’ favor.

Money hasn’t left crypto, and wealthy investors are putting more into crypto as institutions plan bigger allocations. For XRP, what matters is whether any of that money reaches its ETFs again.

For now, the XRP bull run is a forecast and not a fact. Crypto Rover’s $5 XRP price target needs a rally of roughly 280% within 16 months, and Steph Is Crypto’s $15 call needs an 11.6x move. At $1.31, with the XRP ETF outflows breaking a 13-week streak, the token first has to hold $1.30 and take back $1.39. If it doesn’t, any talk of an XRP bull run in 2026 will likely have to wait for another quarter.
