Pi Desktop Update: What Is This All About?

The latest PI Desktop update focuses on SoloHost, a feature that allows users to run supported apps on their computers and access them remotely via Pi Browser. These apps can include local AI agents, enabling users to interact with tools running on their computers instead of relying on external servers.
With version 0.6.4, Pi Desktop handles remote connections without requiring users to manually change their router settings. Users who have already configured this setting can switch to the new connection by selecting “Reconnect” in the remote access interface.
“Pi Desktop 0.6.4 makes accessing SoloHost apps remotely significantly easier. Since launch, SoloHost has allowed a Pioneer’s computer to act as their own server, so Pioneers can remotely access supported apps, such as AI agents, running locally on their desktop from the mobile SoloHost app in Pi Browser.”
This release is also accompanied by checks designed to restrict each SoloHost app to its permitted file and network access. These checks take place before installation and whenever an app starts. However, the network has still advised users to review each app before installing it.
