- XRP Futures Volume has reached a six-month high, alongside stronger XRP trading activity and a notable move in the XRP price during August
- XRPL validator support for the XRPL Ledger Batch upgrade remains below the required 80% threshold, with 24 of 35 validators currently supporting BatchV1_1
- BatchV1_1 must maintain more than 80% support for 14 consecutive days before activation can begin, meaning there is still no confirmed activation date
The XRP market has been witnessing a renewed surge of interest. This interest has been translating through the rise in XRP futures volume, as these metrics have hit a six-month high recently. This development has marked the strongest monthly activity for XRP since February, per CryptoQuant. Binance accounted for nearly $37B of the volume, with Bybit at $14.54B and OKX at $12.88B.
In addition to this, attention towards the XRPL Ledger Batch upgrade is also gaining steam. The update needs more than 80% validator support, maintained continuously for 14 days, before it can activate. This is bringing XRP and the XRPL ecosystem back into focus again.

XRP Trading Activity Is Rising Again

Per a recent CryptoQuant report, XRP futures have risen to a six-month high, signalling renewed momentum. The surge points to returning XRP activity after a period of relatively lower trading volumes. The report later shared how the rising XRP trading activity is signalling that more traders are participating in futures contracts to trade current XRP price movements and market volatility. CryptoQuant later shared:
“This surge reflects a return of activity to the XRP market after a period of relatively lower trading volumes. It also indicates increased participation in futures contracts as traders seek to capitalise on price movements and market volatility. The increase coincided with a notable improvement in XRP’s performance during August, which contributed to attracting additional liquidity to the derivatives market.”
However, higher XRP futures volume does not indicate that XRP traders are bullish. It simply indicates that more XRP traders are participating, highlighting the increased participation in the market. Futures activity can involve both long and short positions, meaning volume alone does not establish which direction traders are expecting.

XRPL Batch Update Is Also Gaining Steam
XRP is currently sitting in the centre of major updates and signals. The XRPL Ledger Batch update, BatchV1_1, currently has support from 24 validators. The total validator count stands at 35, or roughly 68.57%. This development requires more than 80% of XRPL validator support for the update to activate. Moreover, this support is needed continuously for 14 days before activation can begin.
This is suggestive of how the XRPL validator support is still below the required threshold. BatchV1_1 is the corrected replacement for the original Batch amendment, which was earlier disabled after an authorization flaw was discovered. The original vulnerable amendment had not activated on XRPL mainnet.
Together, these two developments are giving XRP traders two separate factors to watch, keeping them glued to anticipate XRP futures prospects and results.
