- Elon Musk plans to give one SpaceX share to every US child next year, a gift worth about $10.7 billion at the current share price
- Bernstein kept its Buy rating and $248 SpaceX stock price target, implying roughly 70% upside from Friday’s $146 close
- SpaceX earnings arrive on October 20, with analysts expecting $12.89 billion in Q3 revenue, up 65% from a year earlier
SpaceX shares for kids are the latest promise from Elon Musk, who said on Monday he will give one of his own SpaceX shares to every child in America next year. As The Wall Street Journal reveals about Musk’s SpaceX share pledge, the move came right after Anthropic promised to commit 5% of its shares to a new public benefit fund.
Elon Musk’s SpaceX shares pledge also landed on the same day Bernstein confirmed its Buy rating and $248 SpaceX stock price target, about 70% above Friday’s $146 close, and just one day before SpaceX earnings for the third quarter. Right now, Wall Street wants to know if SpaceX revenue growth can keep up with the company’s huge AI spending.

What Musk Promised With SpaceX Shares For Kids
Elon Musk wrote on X early Monday:
“Next year, I will give one of my SpaceX shares to every kid in America. This will be the first of many.”
As CNN shows in its report on the SpaceX giveaway, the plan for SpaceX shares for kids is still thin on detail. Musk didn’t say how the shares would reach tens of millions of children, or if every child would even qualify. CNN cites Census Bureau data showing roughly 73 million Americans under 18, which puts Elon Musk’s SpaceX shares giveaway at about $10.7 billion at the current price.
Trump Accounts Already Hold SpaceX Shares For Kids
This month, the Treasury Department automatically signed up millions of under-18s to Trump Accounts, which include a one-off $1,000 government deposit for kids born from 2025 to 2028. Back in July, SpaceX President Gwynne Shotwell and her husband pledged one share each to Trump Accounts for more than two million children, as Quartz reported on Shotwell’s SpaceX stock gift.
Elon Musk’s SpaceX shares plan would go much further than that, and at the top end, wealthy investors are putting more into crypto as institutions plan bigger allocations.
Anthropic’s Fund Pushed Musk To Reply
Musk’s offer answered Anthropic, which said on Sunday it will commit at least 5% of its shares, worth $48 billion at its latest private valuation, to a Public Benefit Fund.
Musk had this to say on X:
“I recommend giving the shares directly to the public… This is what I will be doing.”
In crypto, TRON (TRX) already averages 4.41 million daily active accounts, and its founder has set a goal to lead stablecoins by 2027. Musk’s SpaceX shares promise, though, comes with a much bigger price tag, and it puts SpaceX shares for kids into a public fight between AI companies.
Bernstein Holds Its $248 SpaceX Stock Price Target
As Finbold revealed in its SpaceX target report, Bernstein confirmed its Buy rating and a $248 SpaceX price target on October 19. Analyst Douglas S. Harned first set that stock price target in late September, when he argued that Starlink’s residential broadband business could bring in about $64 billion in revenue in 2031. If he’s right, each one of the SpaceX shares for kids could gain about 70%.

SpaceX Revenue Growth Versus The AI Bill
Revenue growth looked strong in the second quarter, with revenue of $7.81 billion, up 92% year over year. The company also spent $18.4 billion on capital expenditures, and $15.83 billion of that went to AI infrastructure alone. Evercore’s Kutgun Maral expects a beat and a $104 billion annualized revenue run rate by year-end, above SpaceX’s $100 billion goal. Pivotal’s Jeffrey Wlodarczak sees $13.2 billion in revenue, which would keep SpaceX revenue growth strong.
How The SpaceX Stock Moved This Month

MarketCapOf’s ROI calculator shows what the past month would have meant for SpaceX shares for kids. From September 20 to October 19, 2026, the SpaceX xStock token returned 0.95x, so $100 would be worth $95.03 at $146.05. The same $100 in Tesla (TSLA)‘s xStock returned 0.97x, ending at $96.86.
SpaceX lost a little more than Tesla after climbing above $170 in early October, a reminder that Elon Musk SpaceX shares can lose $10 or more in a few weeks. Families have other options too, and Bitcoin funds keep pulling money in, with spot ETFs posting $241 million in inflows as Cathie Wood argues the coin is turning against gold.

What Comes Next For SpaceX Shares For Kids
Handing SpaceX shares to tens of millions of minors would also raise custody and legal questions, such as who would hold each share, that Musk has not answered yet. Rules for big platforms can change fast, as the scrutiny one of the largest crypto exchanges faces under MiCA in Europe shows.
SpaceX shares for kids are a promise with no date, no delivery plan and no eligibility rules. Tomorrow’s report will be the first test of whether SpaceX revenue growth can justify the AI bill. If SpaceX revenue growth holds up, Elon Musk’s shares gift could be worth a lot more by next year. If it doesn’t, SpaceX revenue growth alone may not carry the stock to $248.
