The latest Grayscale report has outlined a contrasting view, stating how Bitcoin’s annualized volatility is lower than that of several major US stocks. Grayscale’s report found that Bitcoin volatility stood at 43%, below the levels recorded by renowned names such as Honeywell, Oracle, Coinbase, and SanDisk.

“🚨BULLISH: Bitcoin is LESS VOLATILE than Oracle, Coinbase, Honeywell, and Sandisk, per Grayscale. Bitcoin’s annualized realized volatility stood at 43%, below its decade-long average of 64% and the 81% recorded five years earlier. Grayscale places Bitcoin below roughly 19% of S&P 500 stocks on this measure, a quiet reminder that some familiar equities have experienced bigger price swings than BTC.”

The contrasting view may appear odd to many, as Bitcoin has usually appeared to be a sensitive asset prone to violent price swings. However, the Grayscale report outlines how Bitcoin’s annualized volatility metric is lower than that of several major US stocks, challenging market sentiment and the BTC price narrative.

Grayscale’s comparison places Bitcoin below roughly 19% of S&P 500 companies in terms of volatility. A decline in volatility may reflect that the asset is maturing, but this does not mean that the asset is free from downside risks.

The River Bitcoin report has added a new side to Bitcoin price dynamics and the debate over its future. The report outlines how BTC ownership trends have started to change, with momentum shifting from individual BTC ownership towards institutional ownership. According to River’s 2026 adoption research, individuals sold nearly 696,000 BTC in 2025, while businesses, funds, ETFs, and governments collectively bought nearly 1 million BTC.

At the same time, Bitcoin payments are also rising in popularity, according to the latest River report. The rise in BTC payments is being driven partly by their affordability, as they can be cheaper than traditional credit card transactions, particularly when processed through the Lightning Network.

“Bitcoin payments are rising in popularity for merchants. They are significantly cheaper than traditional credit card transactions, particularly when processed over the Lightning Network, where fees are often a fraction of card processing costs. They also offer fast settlement, global reach, and reduced reliance on intermediaries.”

Keeping this perspective in mind, the MCO crypto calculator tool predicts a hypothetical $ 2,000 investment in Bitcoin may end up delivering profits worth $1013 taking the total to $3013 if its price recovers to the $120K mark in the future owing to such changing market dynamics.

However, crypto markets are known for their volatility; hence, user discretion is advised before making any such investment, related decisions.
