Bitcoin Reclaims $86K as $90K Odds Hit 66% and Utexo Plans USDT Launch

Bitcoin price

Bitcoin price climbed back above $86,000 on October 2, putting another run toward $90,000 within reach. Tether, meanwhile, is backing a different kind of expansion through Utexo’s planned USDT launch on Bitcoin. One development concerns where traders think the price could go this month. The other could change how holders move dollars and borrow against their BTC.

Bitcoin Price Recovery Lifts October’s $90K Bets

At press time, Bitcoin was near $86,236 on October 2, following a daily trading range of roughly $83,457 to $86,794. Its Bitcoin Polymarket panel showed a 66.5% implied probability of reaching $90,000 during October when checked, alongside an 86.5% probability of reaching $87,500.

This leaves Bitcoin about 4.4% short of $90,000. The contract concerns touching the threshold during the month, rather than holding it through October’s close. Those are different outcomes, particularly in a market where a brief rally can quickly reverse.

The rebound also leaves a lot of ground to recover. Bitcoin remained roughly 31.5% below its $126,080 record. October’s early gains have narrowed that gap without erasing it.

Tether-Backed Utexo Targets October USDT Launch

Utexo plans to begin issuing USDT on Bitcoin this month, co-founder Viktor Ihnatiuk said. He said the company has obtained a commercial license and will supply infrastructure for exchanges, wallets, and payment providers.

USDT began on Bitcoin through Omni in 2014, before Ethereum and Tron became its main networks. The proposed return brings private transfers, direct BTC-USDT swaps, and borrowing against native Bitcoin without converting it into a wrapped token on another blockchain.

The project uses RGB, which keeps transaction details largely between the parties involved while anchoring ownership to Bitcoin. Utexo also plans to extend support to Lightning after the initial rollout.

Bitcoin-Backed Loans Broaden the Pitch

For holders, lending is the clearest practical addition. Borrowing against BTC could provide access to dollars while preserving their Bitcoin position, although collateral requirements and liquidation terms will matter.

Utexo raised $7.5 million in March in a round co-led by Tether, Big Brain Holdings, and Portal Ventures, according to its funding announcement.

The October rollout will show which services users can actually access. Traders can watch $90,000 in the meantime. For Utexo, adoption will depend on whether wallets and exchanges make these services easy enough to use regularly.
