AAPL Stock Eyes $380 as Apple, Google Hire for Stablecoin, Web3

Apple stock

Apple’s latest payments hire has opened an interesting door. The company wants a senior Apple Pay strategist who understands stablecoins, tokenized deposits, and blockchain technology. It hardly amounts to an Apple stablecoin announcement, but it is more specific than the usual fintech language found in corporate job listings. With Google recruiting for a Web3 role of its own, the timing has caught attention, particularly as Apple stock trades near record territory and Wall Street grows more optimistic.

Stablecoins Appear in Apple’s Payments Planning

The Apple Pay Financial Product Strategy Lead will work across Apple Card and Apple Cash, two products already tied closely to the company’s Wallet business. The person hired will study new financial products, build commercial models, and assess possible partnerships.

Buried in the preferred qualifications is the detail driving the story. Apple wants someone familiar with stablecoins, tokenized deposits, and blockchain.

The role pays as much as $280,000 in the US, depending on experience and location. It is a senior strategy job, not a developer position, which suggests Apple is examining where these payment systems could make commercial sense before deciding what to build.

There is still no confirmed Apple Pay crypto service. Apple has not announced support for a stablecoin, nor has it said it plans to issue one. Yet the company would have little reason to request this expertise unless digital money had become part of the discussion around future payment products.

Stablecoins could be useful for transfers, cross-border payments and settlement behind the scenes. Apple would not necessarily need to expose the blockchain element to customers. A payment could still look and feel like an ordinary Apple Pay transaction.

Google’s Web3 Role Gives Another Layer to the Story

Google is approaching the sector from the infrastructure side. The company is hiring an Industry Principal Architect for Web3 in Hong Kong to work with Google Cloud clients across Asia-Pacific.

The Google Web3 role covers stablecoin rails, tokenized deposits, digital-asset custody and real-world asset tokenization. Its likely customers include financial institutions, exchanges and custodians, making it a different proposition from Apple’s consumer payments business.

For investors, the crypto angle arrives alongside a more conventional bullish call. Evercore ISI recently lifted its AAPL price target from $365 to $380 and retained its Outperform rating, citing stronger demand for premium iPhones.

The target has little to do with stablecoins. But the hiring shows Apple is looking beyond cards and hardware as digital payments evolve. A job listing is not a launch plan, but it can reveal which ideas have reached the table.
