- Solana app revenue reached $5.54 million in 24 hours, highlighting activity across the Solana blockchain as the Alpenglow upgrade targets faster transaction finality
- Solana Alpenglow, part of the network’s planned upgrade, aims to reduce transaction finality to around 150 milliseconds, although this remains a target rather than a guaranteed outcome
- The Alpenglow update could strengthen the Solana blockchain by improving transaction speed and finality, while growing Solana app revenue highlights continued activity across its ecosystem
Solana blockchain is drawing central attention as of late, primarily as it prepares for its critical Alpenglow update. At the same time, Solana apps have been reporting stellar metrics, sending millions of dollars in app revenue. Per the latest DeFiLlama stats, the blockchain recorded nearly $5.54M in Solana app revenue as of October 21. How will the Solana blockchain evolve after this latest update deployment?
Solana App Revenue Hits Millions of Dollars

Per the latest DeFiLlama stats, Solana is currently leading the app revenue race amid its competitors. The latest Solana app revenue per the platform sits at $5.54M, ahead of many leading names in the domain. By comparison, Hyperliquid app revenue records $2.72M, while Ethereum generates $1.5M.
In addition to this, Solana is also leading the monthly active user metric with the aforementioned count hitting 53.6M. Per the update shared by Solananews.Sol, Solana’s daily active address count has surged to hit 4.27M, followed by more than 14M Solana addresses holding stablecoins on the network.
“Monthly active users on Solana have climbed to 53.6 million, the highest in a year and more than double the June low. Daily active addresses are up 58% since early September to about 4.27 million. RWA holders on Solana jumped 44% in the past month to over 924,000. More than 14 million addresses now hold stablecoins on Solana, up from under 4 million in late 2024. Solana has done $69B in DEX volume over the past 30 days, the most of any chain and over 60% more than Ethereum. Solana has collected more network fees than any other chain over the past 30 days, ahead of Tron and Ethereum. App revenue rose every month of Q3, from $75.4M in July to $106.5M in August and $117.1M in September, a $299.1M quarter, up 48% from Q2.”
The RWA holders on Solana have also increased, showcasing the growing momentum.
This shows how the Solana ecosystem is expanding rapidly, reflecting consistent signs of progress as of late.
Solana Alpenglow Upgrade Targets 150ms Finality
The Solana network ecosystem is set to undergo the Alpenglow update. The upgrade is expected in October 2026, but its activation on October 21 has not been independently confirmed. The update aims to reduce transaction finality from the older benchmark of 12.8 seconds to around 150 ms.
Alpenglow will also replace Solana blockchain’s existing TowerBFT consensus mechanism with a new system called Votor. This new design will include validators exchanging votes directly and combining approvals into certificates. This process will allow blocks to reach finality in fewer voting rounds.
“Alpenglow replaces that layer entirely. Validators send votes directly to each other and bundle them into certificates, so a block is final after one or two rounds of voting. Execution is untouched: the SVM, transactions, programs, and fees stay the same.”
This upgrade is set to make Solana faster and more suitable for apps that need quick settlements across payment systems and trading platforms. However, the 150 ms figure is a target, not a guarantee of the finality time for every transaction.
What’s Ahead for the SOL Price?
According to CoinCodex SOL stats, Solana’s price forecast includes a potential average price of $143.67 for November 2027, with a maximum estimate of $146.80.
“Solana is forecasted to hit $142.21 by the end of 2026 (+34.16% compared to current rates), $358.99 by 2030 (+238.68%), $624.05 by 2040 (+488.74%), and $867.37 by 2050 (+718.30%).”
The platform further predicts the asset hitting $358 by 2030. However it is to be remembered how the crypto markets are volatile and subject to change any time per evolving market conditions.
The MarketCapOf crypto calculator tool puts this potential price move into perspective. A hypothetical $2,000 investment at a SOL price of $106 could be worth approximately $2,830 if Solana reaches $150, representing a potential profit of around $830 before fees and taxes. However, this is a hypothetical calculation, not a guaranteed return.
