- Meta stock received a $895 Citi price target, up from $800, with its Buy rating maintained
- Apple and Meta collaborated to optimize the 816-billion-parameter Muse Spark Open AI model for high-end Mac Studio systems
- MarketCapOf’s January 1–October 16 comparison shows $1,000 growing to $1,134.49 in Meta and $1,261.72 in Apple
Meta stock has a higher Citi price target just as the company finds an unlikely collaborator in Apple. The rivals have worked together to bring Muse Spark Open to high-end Macs, giving developers another way to run powerful AI locally. For shareholders, the announcement raises a practical question if wider access can turn into meaningful adoption? Their stock returns already tell different stories, and the new partnership gives investors another development to weigh against those results.

Apple and Meta Bring Muse Spark Open to the Desktop

The Meta Apple partnership centers on making a large AI model usable outside cloud infrastructure. In its latest announcement, Meta introduced Muse Spark Open for tasks including coding, complex reasoning, and AI agents.
The model has 816 billion total parameters, with 42 billion active, and a one-million-token context window. Meta worked with Apple to optimize it for the company’s MLX framework and Mac Studio hardware.
Two M5 Ultra Mac Studios configured with 512GB of memory each can hold the model, reports revealed. Those 512GB configurations were still awaiting release when the report appeared, underlining that this is a demanding desktop setup.
For Apple AI ambitions, the collaboration adds a use case for premium hardware. Meta gains another route to developers. Both companies declined to say whether a broader relationship would follow.

Citi Lifts Meta Stock Price Target to $895
Citi raised its Meta stock price target to $895 from $800, retaining a Buy rating in an earnings preview, according to latest reports.
The firm cited improving visibility into Meta’s product roadmap through 2027. Investor attention, it said, would focus on Muse and Wonder adoption alongside the company’s superintelligence plans.
The revision lifts Citi’s target by 11.9%. Its reasoning concerns the wider product portfolio, so the Apple collaboration alone should not be credited for the change. Distribution creates an opportunity, and sustained use will determine its commercial significance.
Apple Leads Meta in the 2026 Return Comparison

MarketCapOf’s comparison tool shows how differently the stocks performed over its January 1–October 16, 2026 window. A hypothetical $1,000 investment in Meta became $1,134.49, a 13.45% gain. The same starting amount in Apple reached $1,261.72, up 26.17%.
Apple generated $127.23 more, leading by 12.72 percentage points. Those figures cover the selected historical period, including months before the collaboration.
The partnership now gives both companies another adoption test. Developers must see enough value in running Muse Spark Open locally to justify the substantial hardware requirements.
