Furthermore, the company participates in the markets for electricity and emission rights. Equinor is also dedicated to developing innovative low-carbon solutions for its existing oil and gas activities. Demonstrating a commitment to a sustainable energy future, Equinor actively pursues renewable energy initiatives, such as developing wind power projects, implementing carbon capture and storage (CCS) technologies, and exploring other clean energy solutions. As of December 31, 2021, the company held substantial proved oil and gas reserves totaling 5,356 million barrels of oil equivalent. Equinor also cultivates strategic alliances, notably with Vårgrønn, RWE Renewables, and Hydro REIN.
