- TRUMP surged 80% in a week and 11.6% in 24 hours, becoming crypto’s third-biggest weekly gainer
- The rally follows a White House crypto summit where Trump reaffirmed pro-crypto policy for Bitcoin and prediction markets
- Despite the spike, TRUMP is still down 47% year-to-date and 93% off its post-launch peak
The Trump memecoin rally has pushed TRUMP back into the spotlight this week, with the token surging 80% and landing among the market’s biggest gainers. The move follows a White House crypto summit that reaffirmed Washington’s pro-crypto direction, and it comes even as TRUMP sits 47% down for the year, which is a gap that shows how far the token still has to climb.

How the Trump Memecoin Rally and White House Crypto Summit Drove Top Gainer Status

TRUMP climbed more than 11% in the past 24 hours, its best levels in four months, and that daily pop is part of the broader Trump memecoin rally that’s carried the token up 80% over the last seven days, which is good enough for third place among the market’s top gainers. Over a longer stretch, TRUMP is up 61% for the month and 24% over three months, though the 47% year-to-date drop is a reminder that this TRUMP price surge is still working to erase a much deeper hole.
Derivatives traders are leaning into the move too. Open interest on TRUMP rose nearly 7% in a day and 186% over the week, per Coinglass data, as leveraged positioning caught up with the spot rally. On Binance, the top 20% of traders by margin balance were net long TRUMP, a sign that at least some of the smart money expects the run to continue.

The Trump Crypto Summit Behind the Move
The catalyst tracing back through this week’s gains is the Trump crypto summit, where the president met with top executives from crypto exchanges and prediction-market platforms at the White House. He used the gathering to restate his intent to keep the US in a leadership position across Bitcoin, crypto broadly, and prediction markets — a message traders read as bullish for tokens carrying his name, TRUMP included.
A Volatile Token Since Day One
TRUMP launched just before the January 2025 inauguration and shot up almost immediately, hitting a $9 billion market cap at its peak, with a fully diluted valuation (counting Trump-affiliated holdings) of $75 billion. That didn’t hold at all, as by April 2026 the market cap had fallen to $635 million, a 93% drawdown. The coin’s own website carries a disclaimer describing it as a symbolic expression of support, not an asset tied to any political campaign or government agency.
Trump Team Pulls Liquidity From TRUMP Pools Mid-Rally
Even as TRUMP rallies, wallets linked to the memecoin team pulled $3.39 million in USDC from the token’s Solana liquidity pools this week, per on-chain analyst LookOnChain. The team doesn’t sell TRUMP directly and it deposits TRUMP into single-sided pools on Meteora, lets trading convert it to USDC, then bridges that out to exchanges like Coinbase. LookOnChain flagged the same pattern in April and December 2025, when the wallet pulled $4.6 million and $94 million respectively.
Removing liquidity doesn’t guarantee a price drop, but it does leave TRUMP more exposed to sharp swings, a risk that’s higher given how much of this week’s rally rides on Trump-linked headlines.

TRUMP Price Right Now

As I write, TRUMP was trading at $2.49, up 3% on the day, according to Benzinga Pro. That keeps it in top-gainer territory for the week, even with the steep year-to-date losses still hanging over it.
