The Renewables segment is dedicated to generating power from clean sources, primarily utilizing onshore wind farms, though it also employs solar, biomass, and some thermal energy technologies. These facilities boast a substantial 8.8 gigawatts of electricity capacity, distributed across 22 states. Avangrid supplies this generated power to a diverse customer base, including investor-owned utilities, public utilities, other creditworthy organizations, and various federal, state, and institutional agencies. Additionally, the company delivers thermal energy to wholesale buyers in the Western United States. Established in 1997, Avangrid, Inc. is headquartered in Orange, Connecticut, and functions as a subsidiary of Iberdrola, S.A.
