These innovative treatments are specifically designed to address complex neurological disorders presenting with stubborn and persistent symptoms. The company's primary investigative drug is PAX-101, an intravenous (IV) form of suramin, which is being explored for a variety of conditions. These include autism spectrum disorder, myalgic encephalomyelitis/chronic fatigue syndrome, post-COVID-19 syndrome (commonly known as "long COVID"), and human African trypanosomiasis. Furthermore, PaxMedica is also developing PAX-102, an intranasal version of suramin, intended for various neurological applications. The company, which was incorporated in 2018 and has its headquarters in Tarrytown, New York, previously operated as Purinix Pharmaceuticals LLC before rebranding to PaxMedica, Inc. in April 2020. It functions as a subsidiary of Tardimed Sciences LLC.
