In contrast, the Bracing & Supports segment offers a variety of supportive equipment for areas like the spine, knees, hips, feet, ankles, and hands. These products serve both therapeutic and preventative purposes by stabilizing joints and other body parts, in addition to providing injury management solutions to aid the healing of fractures and ligament injuries. Össur's primary customer base consists of specialized healthcare providers, including orthopedic and prosthetic clinics, hospitals, and surgical centers. The company distributes its offerings through a combination of its own direct sales force and a network of third-party distributors. Founded in 1971 and headquartered in Reykjavik, Iceland, Össur hf. operates as a subsidiary of William Demant Invest A/S.
