Noranda Aluminum Holding Corporation, established in 2007 and based in Franklin, Tennessee, is a U.S. company involved in the production and distribution of primary aluminum, alumina, bauxite, and various rolled aluminum coil products. Its Bauxite division is responsible for mining and processing bauxite, which is primarily utilized for internal alumina manufacturing. Subsequently, the Alumina segment refines this bauxite into alumina, a critical component for primary aluminum production. This division also markets distinct grades of alumina, including smelter-grade and chemical-grade alumina hydrate. The company's Primary Aluminum operations then manufacture and sell aluminum products in several forms, such as billets, rods, and different sow grades (foundry and commodity). Furthermore, the Flat-Rolled Products unit specializes in creating diverse rolled aluminum goods. These offerings encompass finstock for automotive, commercial, and residential applications; container stock for pre-packaged food; converter foils catering to food, beverage, agricultural, and industrial sectors; and transformer windings employed as conductive materials. Noranda primarily supplies these products to original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) within the air conditioning, transformer, semi-rigid container, and foil packaging industries.
