Derived from corn and other grains, their ethanol serves as a vital fuel component for wholesale gasoline distributors and blenders. It acts as an octane enhancer, an oxygenated fuel additive designed to reduce ozone and carbon monoxide emissions, a non-petroleum-based gasoline substitute, and a renewable fuel contributing to the displacement of imported oil. Among its other key co-products, distillers' grains are utilized as an animal feed ingredient within the beef and dairy industries. Corn oil is primarily marketed as a feedstock for biodiesel production and as an animal feed supplement. Corn syrup is another valuable byproduct of their ethanol manufacturing. Beyond its core operations, the company also manages a 190-mile natural gas pipeline. Granite Falls Energy relies on third-party marketers for the distribution of its ethanol and distillers' grains, while corn oil is sold directly to diesel manufacturers.
