Beyond remediation, the company actively recycles consistent and contracted volumes of waste byproducts from coal power generation, such as bottom ash, fly ash, and gypsum, repurposing them for various industrial uses. They also offer dedicated coal ash management services, which involve silo maintenance, internal ash transportation, and the capture and disposal of ash residues from coal operations. Furthermore, Charah manages other combustion byproducts, including bottom ash, flue gas desulfurization (FGD) gypsum, Pozatec/fixated scrubber sludge, and fluidized bed combustion (FBC) fly ash. A unique offering is their environmental risk transfer service, where they assume responsibility for the remediation requirements of client sites.
