The firm's pipeline includes CER-001, an innovative negatively-charged lipoprotein particle. This compound is designed to mimic the structural and functional attributes of pre-beta HDL, utilizing human recombinant apoA-I (a natural high-density lipoprotein protein) along with natural phospholipids like sphingomyelin and dipalmitoylphosphatidylglycerol. CER-001 is currently under development for patients recovering from acute coronary syndrome and those with familial primary hypoalphalipoproteinemia. Another key candidate, CER-002, is a specific agonist for peroxisome proliferator-activated receptor delta, targeting cardiovascular and metabolic diseases. Additionally, CER-209 is being developed as a potential treatment for metabolic liver diseases, atherosclerosis, and non-alcoholic steatohepatitis (NASH). ABIONYX maintains strategic partnerships with GTP Biologics and VBI Therapeutics Group for the bioproduction of its bio-HDL in France. Established in 2005, the company operated as Cerenis Therapeutics Holding SA before its rebranding to ABIONYX Pharma SA in August 2019. Its operations are headquartered in Balma, France.
