Its diverse business is structured into four main segments: Hotto Motto, YAYOI, MK RESTAURANTS, and its Overseas division. The Hotto Motto segment primarily offers take-out bento boxes, alongside selling ingredients, packaging, and office equipment. YAYOI focuses on providing various set meals, while MK RESTAURANTS specializes in dishes like shabu-shabu (thinly sliced meat boiled with vegetables) and authentic dim sum. Beyond these core food service operations, PLENUS is also involved in the sale of packaging materials, the development, sale, and maintenance of IT systems for the food industry, and the research, production, and sale of seasonings and processed foods, as well as the processing and sale of marine products. The company maintains a significant retail presence with 2,870 shops in total, split between 967 directly managed locations and 1,903 franchised stores. Established in 1960, the company was initially known as Taiyo Co., Ltd. before rebranding to PLENUS Co., Ltd. in December 1990. Its headquarters are located in Fukuoka City, Japan.
