Operating through its Sagent Group and Nichi-Iko Group segments, the company primarily focuses on the development and production of generic drugs. Its extensive product line encompasses antidiabetic, antacid, and antireflux agents, as well as beta-blockers, hypnotics, sedatives, angiotensin II antagonists (including combinations with diuretics), dyslipidemic agents, and calcium antagonists. These offerings target conditions affecting the circulatory, digestive, respiratory, central, and peripheral nervous systems, among others. Beyond pharmaceuticals, the company is also involved in packaging design and exports its products internationally. Established in 1947 as Nihon Iyakuhin Kogyo Co., Ltd., the firm officially became Nichi-Iko Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd. in 2005 and is headquartered in Toyama, Japan.
