Micron Stock Rises 4% on $3,000 Target as SanDisk Data Center Revenue Is Projected to Hit $8B Quarterly

Micron stock

Micron (MU) stock climbed Wednesday as a sharply higher analyst target gave investors another reason to reconsider the memory business. AI customers are buying capacity faster than suppliers can add it, supporting expectations that strong pricing could last beyond the usual cycle. SanDisk (SNDK) stock is drawing attention for a related reason, which is the storage requirements behind those systems. Yet the two companies enter this next stretch with very different valuations, and plenty already expected of them.

Micron Stock Gains as Davidson Sets a $3,000 Target

MU stock closed October 7 at $1,088, up 4.06%. D.A. Davidson raised its Micron price target to $3,000 from $2,100 while retaining a Buy rating. The new target implies approximately 176% upside from Wednesday’s close.

Analyst Gil Luria’s argument centers on how investors value future earnings. According to the note, the target applies roughly 19 times fiscal 2027 earnings, with AI memory demand expected to exceed supply through 2027–2028.

This would give Micron more time to benefit from tight supply. It also asks investors to assign the business a higher earnings multiple, making confidence in the durability of those profits central to the forecast.

SanDisk’s $8B Forecast Builds on an Existing Revenue Surge

A projection shared by an investor on X puts SanDisk data center revenue near $8 billion quarterly by 2028, approaching half of total sales. He links that outlook to AI agents and the use of enterprise solid-state drives. The figure is a forecast he shared, rather than verified company guidance.

SanDisk’s reported results provide a concrete starting point. Fiscal fourth-quarter data-center revenue reached $2.977 billion, up 103% from the preceding quarter. Total quarterly revenue was $8.965 billion.

Reaching $8 billion would therefore require data-center sales to grow roughly 2.7 times from that reported level. That is a notable growth even after the recent acceleration.

Micron and SanDisk Remain Far Apart in Market Value

MarketCapOf’s tool values Micron at approximately $1.23 trillion and SanDisk at $181.89 billion, a ratio of about 6.75 to one.

Using the tool, SNDK stock would hypothetically trade at $8,287.06 if SanDisk matched Micron’s market capitalization, compared with its displayed price of $1,228.24.

The calculation shows the size of the gap. But it does not establish what SanDisk should be worth. For Micron stock and SanDisk, higher expectations will need support from sustained sales, pricing, and profits as customers expand their AI systems.
