Its diverse oncology pipeline includes CM24, a humanized monoclonal antibody that targets and blocks carcinoembryonic antigen related cell adhesion molecule 1 (CEACAM1). Currently in Phase 2 clinical trials, CM24 is being investigated as a combination therapy with anti-PD-1 checkpoint inhibitors for treating pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma. Another candidate is NT219, a small molecule compound in Phase 1/2 clinical trials, which functions by inhibiting insulin receptor substrate 1 and 2 (IRS1/2) and signal transducer and activator of transcription (STAT). This compound is being developed for recurrent and/or metastatic squamous cell carcinoma of the head and neck, or colorectal adenocarcinoma. Furthermore, IM1240, a multi-valent antibody designed to activate an anti-tumoral immune response against 5T4-positive tumors, is in its preclinical stage. The company has established significant collaborations, including an agreement with Bristol Myers Squibb Company for Phase 2 clinical trials to assess CM24 in combination with the PD-1 inhibitor nivolumab and chemotherapy, as well as a partnership with Mor Research Applications. Formerly known as Kitov Pharma Ltd., the company adopted the name Purple Biotech Ltd. in December 2020 and is headquartered in Rehovot, Israel.
