Its operational framework is divided into the Brazil Business, North America Business, South America Business, and a specialized Special Steel Business. The company’s extensive product catalog features semi-finished items like billets, blooms, and slabs. It also manufactures common long rolled materials such as rebars, wire rods, merchant bars, light shapes, and profiles, catering to the construction and manufacturing sectors. Finished industrial products encompass commercial rolled-steel bars, light profiles, and various wires. For agriculture, Gerdau offers stakes and smooth wire, while its drawn product range includes barbed and barbless fence wires, galvanized wires, complete fences, concrete reinforcing wire meshes, nails, and clamps. A significant part of its production focuses on special steel products, vital for auto parts, light and heavy vehicles, agricultural machinery, as well as the oil and gas, wind energy, machinery and equipment, mining and rail industries, among others. Furthermore, the company produces and resells flat products, including hot rolled coils and heavy plates, and is involved in iron ore mining and production. Gerdau distributes its diverse offerings via independent distributors, direct sales from its facilities, and its proprietary retail outlets.
