Beyond traditional energy, Aker is a key player in renewable energy and green technologies. Its marine and aquaculture activities include harvesting, processing, and marketing krill-derived products for human nutrition, aquaculture, and animal feed, and it also constructs and operates sea-based salmon farms. The company is involved in maritime infrastructure through the design, construction, and leasing of various vessels, as well as owning and operating a fleet of supply, anchor handling, and construction service vessels. Technologically, Aker develops and provides Cognite Data Fusion, a platform designed to collect, process, and leverage large datasets for industrial clients. It also acts as a venture capital platform for industrial technology and develops software. Furthermore, Aker engages in real estate development. Within its Financial Investments segment, the company actively trades in financial instruments, serves as an investment manager, and strategically allocates capital to Bitcoin and various projects and enterprises within the Bitcoin ecosystem. Established in 1841 and headquartered in Lysaker, Norway, Aker ASA operates as a subsidiary of TRG Holding AS.
