Arcadis also develops digital solutions for environmental health, safety, and sustainability (EHS&S), undertakes environmental restoration initiatives, and offers comprehensive project management. Its specialized solutions extend to advanced mobility (including smart roadways, intelligent rail, integrated airports, and emerging transport modes), urban development ("places" solutions), and a broad array of resilience services. These resilience offerings focus on climate adaptation, energy transition, environmental and social permitting, ecological restoration, sustainable advisory, eco-efficient operations, and water resource optimization. Additionally, the company provides holistic water services, from supply and treatment to distribution, resource management, and industrial wastewater solutions. Arcadis serves a diverse client base within sectors such as industrial manufacturing, technology, property and investment, construction, and energy and resources. Founded in 1888 as Heidemij NV, the company adopted its current name, Arcadis N.V., in October 1997 and is headquartered in Amsterdam, Netherlands.
