Beyond AFM13, Affimed is actively developing several other therapeutic candidates. These include AFM24, a distinctive tetravalent, bispecific innate cell engager designed to target both epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR) and CD16A; it is presently undergoing Phase IIa clinical trials for a range of advanced cancers. Further back in the pipeline are AFM28, an innate cell engager (ICE) in preclinical development for acute myeloid leukemia, and AFM32, another ICE candidate also in preclinical stages, aimed at solid tumors. The company has forged strategic collaboration agreements with prominent institutions such as The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center, Genentech, Inc., and Roivant Sciences Ltd. Moreover, it benefits from a research funding agreement with The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. Founded in 2000 and headquartered in Heidelberg, Germany, the organization transitioned its name to Affimed N.V. in October 2014, having previously operated as Affimed Therapeutics B.V.
