The Composite Systems division engineers and manufactures flexible composite and high-density polyethylene (HDPE) pipes, utilized in applications such as oil and gas gathering, water disposal, and carbon dioxide injection, among others. It also produces fiberglass-reinforced plastic (FRP) underground storage tanks for diverse markets, including retail fuel, water and wastewater management, and oil and gas. It further produces low-voltage wires and cables essential for control, instrumentation, thermocouple, power, and general industrial uses. Through its Pipeline and Pipe Services segment, Shawcor provides advanced internal anti-corrosion and flow efficiency pipe coating systems, insulation and weight coating solutions, and specialized custom coating and field joint application services for both onshore and offshore pipelines. This segment also delivers critical ultrasonic and radiographic pipeline girth weld inspection services to operators and contractors. Furthermore, it offers non-destructive testing for the integrity management of oil and gas gathering pipelines and broader oilfield infrastructure, alongside comprehensive pipeline engineering and integrity management services for North American pipeline and other infrastructure operators. Originally founded in 1930 as Shaw Industries Ltd., the company adopted its current name, Shawcor Ltd., in 2001. Its headquarters are located in Toronto, Canada.
