Its flagship therapeutic candidate, PRA023, is a humanized IgG1 monoclonal antibody currently undergoing Phase IIa clinical trials. This investigational treatment is being evaluated for its potential in addressing ulcerative colitis and Crohn's disease, both forms of IBD, as well as systemic sclerosis-associated interstitial lung disease. Beyond its lead asset, Prometheus maintains an active development pipeline featuring several other programs targeting IBD and other immune-mediated conditions: PR600: An anti-tumor necrosis factor monoclonal antibody (mAb) for IBD. PR300: A small molecule G-protein coupled receptor modulator specifically for IBD. PR1100: An anti-cytokine receptor mAb with applications in IBD and various other immune disorders. PR1800: An anti-chemokine mAb focused on IBD. PR2100: An anti-inflammatory cytokine mAb also aimed at IBD. Furthermore, the company has forged key alliances, including a diagnostic development and collaboration pact with Takeda Pharmaceutical Company Limited, a co-development and manufacturing arrangement with Dr. Falk Pharma GmbH, a licensing agreement with Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, and a strategic partnership with Millennium Pharmaceuticals, Inc. Tracing its origins, the company was initially incorporated in 2016 as Precision IBD, Inc., before rebranding to Prometheus Biosciences, Inc. in October 2019. Its corporate headquarters are situated in San Diego, California.
