Its diverse activities are structured into key divisions: Integrated Gas, Upstream, Marketing, Chemicals and Products, and Renewables and Energy Solutions. The company's upstream endeavors include the exploration and extraction of crude oil, natural gas, and associated liquids. It also handles the marketing and transportation of these resources, producing gas-to-liquids fuels, and maintaining the vital infrastructure required to bring gas to consumers. In its commitment to energy transition, the firm generates electricity from renewable sources such as wind and solar, produces and distributes hydrogen, offers electric vehicle charging infrastructure, and develops electricity storage solutions. Founded in 1907, Shell plc, originally incorporated as Royal Dutch Shell plc before adopting its current name in January 2022, maintains its headquarters in London, United Kingdom.
