(VBLT) operates as a clinical-stage biopharmaceutical company, dedicated to developing therapeutic solutions for cancer and immune-inflammatory diseases. The company's activities are concentrated in Israel and the United States. Its pipeline is anchored by two core technological platforms: First, a gene-based vascular targeting system that focuses on newly formed blood vessels; and second, an antibody-based monocyte targeting technology that aims to specifically inhibit monocyte migration, particularly for immune-inflammatory applications. VBLT's flagship product candidate, VB-111, a gene-based biologic, is undergoing several clinical trials. It has reached Phase III for the treatment of recurrent, platinum-resistant ovarian cancer. Additionally, it is in Phase II trials for recurrent glioblastoma and colorectal cancer. Moreover, VB-111 has completed Phase II clinical trials for thyroid cancer. The company is also developing VB-601 for a variety of inflammatory indications and VB-611 for different types of solid tumors. Initially incorporated as Medicard Ltd. in 2000, the company rebranded as Vascular Biogenics Ltd. in January 2003. Its main offices are situated in Modi'in, Israel.
