Its operations are structured into two principal segments: Exploration and Production, and Refining and Distribution. The firm extracts liquid hydrocarbons from diverse geographical areas within Russia, including Western and Eastern Siberia, Timan-Pechora, Ural-Volga, the southern European part of the country, and the Russian Far East. Beyond its core oil and gas activities, Rosneft manufactures an extensive range of petrochemical products; foundational and industrial lubricants; engine and transmission oils designed for cars, trucks, buses, agricultural and specialized machinery, and both railway and marine transport; specialized aviation lubricants; and various hydraulic, gear, turbine, compressor, and transformer oils, among others. Additionally, it produces coolants, softener oils, paraffins, and additives for fuels and lubricants. The company also manages the domestic and international transportation of crude oil through pipelines, railways, and multimodal methods. It markets petrochemicals, including phenolic chain derivatives, aromatics, polymers, olefins, alcohols, refined oil products, fuel components, and other related petrochemicals, in addition to liquefied petroleum gas. Services offered include marine bunkering and aircraft refueling, as well as the provision of bitumen products. Furthermore, Rosneft operates a widespread network of retail fuel stations. Established in 1995, the corporation is headquartered in Moscow, Russia, and functions as a subsidiary of OJSC Rosneftegaz.
