Before this acquisition, Oasis functioned as an exploration and production firm focused on discovering and developing onshore unconventional oil and natural gas deposits within the United States. Its assets, as reported on December 31, 2021, included a substantial 492,355 net leasehold acres situated in the Williston Basin. The company marketed its extracted crude oil and natural gas to refiners, marketers, and other purchasers who possessed access to vital pipeline and rail transportation infrastructure. Oasis Petroleum Inc. was founded in 2007 and maintained its corporate headquarters in Houston, Texas.
