The Communications unit supplies fiber optic services for internet, television, and telephone to both residential and business clients. Through its Asset Generation and Management segment, Nelnet is engaged in the acquisition, oversight, and ownership of various loan assets. Finally, the Nelnet Bank segment manages and operates internet-based industrial banks. Nelnet, Inc. was established in 1978 and is headquartered in Lincoln, Nebraska.
