The company specializes in tunneling machinery, including shield tunneling machines and automated segment assembly systems, alongside comprehensive transportation solutions. Within its offshore facilities segment, IHI supplies LPG/LEG storage tanks, floating production, storage, and offloading (FPSO) units for LNG/LPG, and large-scale marine structures like semi-submersible rigs and mega-floats. Furthermore, the company engages in real estate activities, encompassing property leasing, sales, and residential development. A vast array of industrial machinery and equipment is also manufactured, including compressors, cryogenic solutions, logistics and materials handling systems, steelmaking equipment, marine machinery, vehicle turbochargers, various separators, lubrication systems, pulp and paper machinery, agricultural machinery, parking systems, boilers, and other essential life-support equipment. It extends its expertise to factory optimization, heat treatment, and surface engineering solutions. In the aerospace and defense domains, IHI provides aero engines, air traffic control systems, and comprehensive rocket and space exploration technologies. Established in 1853, the company was originally known as Ishikawajima-Harima Heavy Industries Co., Ltd., before rebranding as IHI Corporation in 2007.
