Established in 1976 and headquartered in Zamudio, Spain, the firm was initially known as Gamesa Corporación Tecnológica, Sociedad Anónima, before rebranding to Siemens Gamesa Renewable Energy, S.A. in May 2017. Currently, it functions as a subsidiary of Siemens Energy Global GmbH & Co. KG.
