It served a diverse client base, including individual customers, corporations, and government organizations, operating both within the United States and internationally. The firm's service portfolio encompassed wireless telecommunication solutions such as mobile connectivity, GPS tracking (telemetry), and messaging services, boasting approximately 38,000 cellular subscribers. Teletouch distributed its offerings via several avenues: a chain of 19 company-owned and agent-operated stores under the Teletouch and Hawk Electronics brands, a dedicated direct sales team, and various online retail platforms. Additionally, the company managed a wholesale distribution arm for consumer electronics and cellular equipment, primarily catering to carrier agents, smaller rural cellular operators, various electronics and automotive retailers, and car dealerships. Through direct agreements with manufacturers, Teletouch procured, sold, and provided support for a wide array of products, including mobile phones, their associated accessories, telemetry devices, car audio systems, and vehicle security items. Established in 1964, Teletouch Communications, Inc. was headquartered in Fort Worth, Texas. However, on October 3, 2013, the company and a related affiliate initiated voluntary Chapter 7 liquidation proceedings in the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the District of Delaware.
