The company's primary product, caprolactam, serves as a crucial foundational material for nylon fibers, utilized extensively in clothing, tire cords, fishing nets, and carpets. It also plays a role in the formulation of nylon resins, mechanical components, and advanced engineering plastics. Capro's ammonium sulfate fertilizer is a key ingredient for various mixed and compound fertilizers. Furthermore, its applications span the artificial silk and cellophane industries, the creation of ammonia compounds, diverse ammonium salts, potash alum, gypsum boards, light bulbs, synthetic resins, and pharmaceuticals. It also assists in culturing enzymes and in the leather tanning process. Beyond these core offerings, the company supplies additional ammonium nitrate and sulfate-based fertilizers. Another distinct product is methylethylketoxime, which acts as an additive for construction silicon and helps prevent surface tack in wet paints. The enterprise, initially incorporated as Korea Caprolactam Co., Ltd., officially changed its name to Capro Corporation in February 2001.
